All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Noah

Following on the theme set by Robert Fulghum’s “All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten”, I thought you’d enjoy the ProfiTune spin on “All I Really Need To Know, I Learned From Noah” (with apologies to whomever wrote the original version of this little gem):1. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah was told to build the Ark.
2. Listen to your head. When that little voice (or Warren Buffett) tells you good times can’t last forever, don’t argue – start building your Ark!
3. Don’t listen to critics. Just get on with the job that you know needs doing, and do it well.
4. Keep it tidy. We’re all in the same boat – and on the same planet – so be careful where you mess (or sell bad mortgages, for that matter).
5. Watch your step. There are a lot of animals on the boat, so be careful where you step (or you may end up with a bad mortgage stuck to your soul – no, that’s not a spelling error).
6. Stay fit. When you’re 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
7. Aim high. Build your future on high ground (and high quality).
8. Stick together. Travel in pairs, and focus on your relationships because you never know when you may have to start the entire species (or business) again – from scratch.
9. Mind your own business. When it rains for 40 days and 40 nights (on Wall Street), focus on making sure that the bit of the world that you can control, is working the best you can get it.
10. Trust yourself. Remember Noah’s Ark, like your business, was built by amateurs while the Titanic (like Enron, Lehman Bros, AIG, and a host of banks) were built by “professionals”.
11. Watch for the dove. When the rain stops and the tide goes out there will be a lot of stranded fish (and the odd whale) for the picking.
12. Don’t miss the boat.
